Damien's path to founding Kick Finance is anything but conventional — and that's exactly the point.
Damien studied graphic design, advertising and visual communications — the creative foundation that shapes how Kick Finance looks and communicates today. Simultaneously, he was working his way up through Mainfreight, an international logistics company, going from storeperson to national account manager. He learned how businesses work from the ground up, not the boardroom down.
After COVID, Damien pivoted into banking, landing at Westpac in corporate lending — working with large enterprises like Coles and Amazon. He got an inside view of how big institutions think about money, lending, and clients. Valuable. Eye-opening. But not where he was meant to stay.
Travelling the world gave Damien clarity. Corporate life wasn't the goal — freedom was. The ability to build something, own his time, and use money as a tool for life rather than the other way around. In 2023 he joined a brokerage and found the industry where his skills, personality, and ambitions all clicked.
In February 2025, Damien launched Kick Finance. Not just a brokerage — a brand built to last, to grow, and to eventually become something bigger than mortgage broking alone. The vision is simple: deliver a level of service, honesty, and personal attention that the big players simply can't match.
